A native of South Florida Dr. Jennifer Gonzalez graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Florida International University, where she was an Honors College student.
She began her career as a research and development scientist. Although being involved with groundbreaking research was exciting, it lacked direct contact with patients. Having watched her grandfather battle glaucoma, Dr. Gonzalez was eager to pursue her passion in eye care. That led her to Nova Southeastern University, where she earned a doctorate degree in Optometry.
Dr. Gonzalez gained experience managing ocular disease at the Wilmington VA Medical Center in Wilmington, Delaware. In addition to ocular disease, she has extensive knowledge of pre-and post-operative care from her experience at several multidisciplinary clinics, including Aran Eye Associates in Miami, and affiliates of the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai in New York City. She continues to strive to practice at the highest level and offer patients top-quality care. Most recently she earned a fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry.
In her free time, Dr Gonzalez enjoys yoga, the theater, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and two dogs
