Paul M. Mann, II, MD specializes in cataract and refractive surgery at Mann Eye Institute.
Dr. Mann received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his M.B.A. from Rice University while attending medical school at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. He completed his internship and residency training at John A. Moran Eye Center of the University of Utah. Dr. Mann served as Clinical Fellow of Refractive and Corneal Surgery at the Pepose Vision Institute in Missouri before returning to Houston, TX.
Dr. Mann has been performing blade-free LASIK since 2004, and he has performed more than 40,000 refractive procedures. He specializes in cataract surgery with femtosecond lasers and presbyopia-correcting intraocular lens implants. In addition, he implants phakic IOLs to correct extreme nearsightedness in patients who do not qualify for LASIK. He also performs corneal collagen crosslinking treatments to provide corneal stability for patients with keratoconus.
He enjoys participation in clinical trial research and has had the opportunity to participate in various studies.
Dr. Mann is a member and actively involved in American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the American Society of Cataract of Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), and the Houston Ophthalmology Society. He currently serves on the University of Texas Health Development Board.
Dr. Mann enjoys spending time with his family and traveling. He is also an avid sports fan and enjoys fly fishing, mountain biking, snow skiing, upland game shooting, tennis, and golf.
