Anuj Kodnani, MBBS, MS (Ophth), AHA-CLS (Retina – LVPEI), DNB, MNAMS, FAGE has completed MBBS from SBKS Medical College and Research Centre, Vadodara, India. Concluded M.S. Ophthalmology from Kasturba Medical College, KMC Manipal, India in 2021 along with a fellowship in Small incision cataract surgery at Sharat Laser Eye Hospital, Warangal, Telangana, and AHA-CLS Retina Course conducted by LV Prasad Eye Institute. He passed his DNB Exams in June 2021 and was awarded MNAMS (Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences) and FAGE(Fellow of Academy of General Education). At present, he is pursuing anterior segment, phacoemulsification, and IOL fellowship at Dr. Thakorbhai V. Patel Eye Institute, Vadodara, Gujarat, India where he has performed over 2500 phacoemulsification surgeries including Femtosecond Laser-Assisted Cataract Surgery (FLACS) and complex cataract surgeries.
Dr. Kodnani was elected as one of the 20 executive members of the YOSI (Young Ophthalmic Society of India) governing council in 2022. He has various publications and has presented papers, video presentations, and posters at numerous conferences. He is passionate about teaching and is involved in phaco development programs held at Dr. Thakorbhai V. Patel Eye Institute where he trains young surgeons to develop their phacoemulsification skills. He has a special interest in innovative ideas and refractive cataract surgery more so with toric IOLs and new-age refractive IOLs. He is involved in a collaborative Inter-Institution project involving the Department of Ophthalmology, Kasturba Medical College, KMC, Manipal, and the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Manipal Institute of Technology, MIT, Manipal for the development of a robotic unmanned remote-controlled slit lamp.
