Nader Iskander, MD, FACS is a board-certified third-generation ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained refractive surgeon. He has extensive experience in refractive surgery and is considered an expert in his field, having performed thousands of refractive procedures like LASIK, PRK, ICLs, Refractive Lens Exchange, and Limbal Relaxing Incisions. With over 20 years of experience, he specializes in refractive surgery, advanced cataract removal, and anterior segment surgery. Dr. Iskander was the first ophthalmologist in Texas to be certified on the LENSAR femtosecond laser system. He routinely performs refractive cataract surgery utilizing different types of intraocular lenses, like toric, multifocal, EDOF, and light adjustable lenses.
Dr. Iskander trained at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, Kresge Eye Institute in Michigan, and Gimbel Eye Centre in Calgary, Canada. Having performed thousands of surgical cases, Dr. Iskander’s vast surgical experience and management of complex surgical cases, has fostered a center for trusted surgical outcomes for refractive surgery, cataract surgery, and other anterior segment procedures. San Antonio Eye Specialists hosts multiple Excimer and femtosecond lasers.
