Nino Kobakhidze MD, PhD is a cataract and refractive surgeon, head of the refractive surgery department at Chichua Medical Center Mzera in Tbilisi, Georgia. She performs wide variety of procedures, including LASIK, PRK, cataract surgery and refractive lens replacement as well as laser and surgical procedures for glaucoma.
Dr Kobakhidze is a pioneer of topography-guided laser vision corrections and therapeutic corneal treatments for keratoconus as well as other irregular corneas in Georgia. She has been awarded with different educational grants from International Council of Ophthalmology, European Society of Ophthalmology and International Society of Refractive Surgery.
Dr Kobakhidze is a member of The Genetics of Exfoliation Syndrome Global Partnership and has co-authored scientific articles published in journals like Nature Genetics and JAMA.
