Shawn R. Lin, MD, MBA is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology for UCLA division of Cataract & Refractive Surgery and the Medical Director at UCLA Stein Eye Center in Calabasas, California. Dr. Lin attended medical School at Stanford, completed his residency at UCLA and then went on to complete a fellowship in cornea, cataract and refractive surgery at Harvard.
Dr. Lin’s practice is focused on precision cornea, cataract and refractive surgery, including Femtosecond laser cataract surgery, LASIK refractive surgery, PRK refractive surgery, Corneal transplants (full and partial thickness), Keratoconus, and Dry Eye.
Dr. Lin is the recipient of the Heed Fellowship and the Abelson Fellowship. He has authored more than a dozen peer-reviewed publications in leading ophthalmology journals: including the American Journal of Ophthalmology and the British Journal of Ophthalmology. He has written textbook chapters for the classic Practice of Ophthalmology textbook and the subspecialty Cornea textbook and has delivered keynote presentations at national and international ophthalmology meetings. His research is focused on combining human and artificial intelligence to deliver exceptional surgical results to his patients.
He is a leader in ophthalmology education, founding EyeGuru, an educational platform visited more than 300,000 times a year by other ophthalmologists from over 125 countries around the world. In this teaching role, Dr. Lin helps to advance knowledge in ophthalmology and train the next generation of ophthalmologists.
