Daniel Brocks, MD is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist with a specialization in the medical and surgical treatment of the cornea. He received his bachelor’s degree and his medical degree from Tufts University. His Internal Medicine internship was completed at Mount Auburn Hospital of Harvard University. He completed his ophthalmology residency and chief residency at Long Island Jewish/North Shore Hospital System in Long Island NY. Dr. Brocks completed an additional fellowship year of training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan, NY, where he studied the medical and surgical treatment of the cornea under one of the world’s leading corneal surgeons, Dr. Penny Asbell.
Dr. Brocks specializes in the treatment of ocular surface disorders, including dry eye disease and was the founder of The Dry Eye Center at Hudson Valley Eye Surgeons in Fishkill, NY. He is particularly interested in the treatment of dry eye related to autoimmune issues, including Sjogren’s syndrome, Rheumatoid arthritis, and Graft vs Host Disease.
Dr. Brocks is focused on the management of corneal disorders with a specific interest in the management of infectious keratitis, corneal ectasia, and rheumatologic/immune-associated corneal and anterior segment disorders.
He is proud to have been twice voted favorite doctor/health care professional of the year in Ophthalmology by Hudson Valley Parent Magazine. He has been invited three times to be featured on the hour-long live medical educational radio show “Medical Monday” on Northeast Public Radio with Alan Chartock.
Prior to joining BostonSight in February 2018, Dr. Brocks served as the President of Hudson Valley Eye Surgeons and as the Director of the Department of Ophthalmology at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, International Society of Refractive Surgery, The Cornea Society, The Sjogren’s Syndrome Foundation, American Association for Physician Leadership, American Telemedicine Association, Refractive Surgery Alliance, Scleral Lens Education Society, ARVO and Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmology. He is currently certified to practice medicine in New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
