Maxime Delbarre, MD, MSc, FEBO

Maxime Delbarre, MD is a Refractive and Cataract Surgeon based in Montpellier, France. After serving for 10 years as a military ophthalmologist in Paris, Dr. Delbarre gained extensive experience working in the only refractive surgery unit of the French armed forces. During this time, he provided care to patients with demanding visual needs, trained numerous medical residents, and supervised several medical theses, solidifying his dedication to both patient care and education.

Dr. Delbarre’s patients can expect a personalized approach characterized by empathy, meticulous attention to detail, and clear communication about their surgical journey. He is passionate about using the latest technologies in ophthalmology to deliver outstanding outcomes, empowering patients to regain their independence and pursue life’s opportunities with confidence.

Beyond his clinical practice, he co-hosts the podcast “OPHTALMOS,” where he shares insights into the field, discusses the future of vision care, and connects with leading experts to promote awareness and education in ophthalmology.

Dr. Delbarre holds a medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine in Paris, where he was awarded the title of Faculty Laureate. He completed his specialization in ophthalmology in 2014 and earned the European Board of Ophthalmology certification. To further refine his skills, he pursued a Master 2 in “Clinical Research and Pharmacovigilance” and completed several advanced diplomas, including the inter-university diploma in “Refractive Surgery and Phacoemulsification.”

Dr. Delbarre has personally had PRK.
