Anthony Grillo, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist with sub-specialization in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery. Growing up in Southern Oregon, he was always interested in medicine and healing. As a medical student at UCLA, he became fascinated with microsurgery and the amazing results that eye surgery could provide. During his residency at the Casey Eye Institute, he developed a passion for the intricacies of surgery in the anterior segment of the eye. He further honed his skills in cataract surgery, corneal transplants, and ocular reconstruction during his cornea fellowship at the Mason Eye Institute. He continued on as faculty, teaching residents and fellows for the next 3 years before returning to his home state of Oregon to practice at Pacific ClearVision in Eugene. At this time, he is proud to offer laser refractive surgery, cataract surgery, and a variety of corneal transplants such as DMEK, DSAEK, DALK, and PKP, as well as iris reconstruction in order to meet his patient’s needs.
In addition to patient care, Dr. Grillo is passionate about teaching. He has instructed several cornea fellows, as well as numerous residents acting as assistant program director for the residency program at the Mason Eye Institute. He has been awarded both resident and faculty teaching awards. He continues that pursuit at Pacific ClearVision with a new anterior segment fellowship and is pursuing ongoing resident education.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Grillo is passionate about his family, fishing, and the health of our oceans.
