Justin Harris, MD

Justin Harris, MD is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist in the United States Army. Dr. Harris is a native of Tyler, TX. He attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, followed by medical school at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, LA. Dr. Harris did a Transitional Year internship at William Beaumont Army Medical Center at Fort Bliss, TX. He then served as a flight surgeon in the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY, including a deployment to Afghanistan.

Following his time as a flight surgeon, Dr. Harris completed his Residency in Ophthalmology at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium (SAUSHEC), through the Brook Army Medical Center (BAMC) and Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center (WHASC). Dr. Harris is currently practicing Ophthalmology at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center (CRDAMC) at Fort Cavazos (formerly Fort Hood) TX. Dr. Harris specializes in Comprehensive Ophthalmology, including glaucoma, cataract, and refractive surgery. Dr. Harris offers refractive surgery to include LASIK, PRK, ICL, & RLE for the Active Duty soldiers located at Fort Cavazos. He also offers cataract & minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries to the retired U.S. Army population of Central Texas.

In addition to his work for the U.S. Army, Dr. Harris works part-time for Westlake Eye Specialist, where he practices comprehensive ophthalmology, with a focus on Cataract Surgery.

Dr. Harris has a passion for improving patient’s quality of life through cataract & refractive surgery.
