He also has an interest in corneal surgery. Dr Kruger is an expert in femtosecond laser technology , which he has been using since 2008.
Dr Kruger is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, European Cataract and Refractive Society, South African College of Ophthalmologists, South African Ophthalmology Society, Presbymania member, Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and the South African Cataract and Refractive surgery society as well as the Glaucoma Society of South Africa.
Dr Kruger has lectured on 5 continents and has been an invited speaker to the American Academy, acknowledging as an innovator. Dr Kruger has also performed live surgeries in Europe at meetings.
He is a keen sportsman who enjoys weekend golf.
