Timothy Khater, MD, PhD graduated from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland with a degree in biomedical engineering as a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the national engineering honor society. Subsequently, he obtained his MD and PhD degrees from Northwestern University in 1993 in Chicago, Illinois. At the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, Dr. Khater did his one-year internship, ophthalmology residency, and fellowship training in the area of cornea, cataract, refractive surgery, and anterior segment surgery. He graduated from Baylor’s Cullen Eye Institute in 1997. Following fellowship, he returned to Lubbock to become one of the area’s few fellowship-trained corneal specialists. He is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr Khater’s states, “I love to see the difference we make in people’s lives after performing refractive surgery. The best thing I can hear is when the patient says “I can see” with tears in their eyes minutes after the procedure.”
