Florian Kretz, MD, FEBO, FWCRS is the managing director of Precise Vision Augenärzte, a Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO), as well as a Fellow of the World College of Refractive Surgery and Visual Sciences. He discovered his passion for ophthalmology early on. In 2001, he began his medical studies and completed semesters abroad in the West Indies. In 2007, he successfully graduated from the University of Ulm. For his specialization in ophthalmology, he chose the Eye Clinic of Heidelberg University Hospital, one of the most prestigious institutions of its kind. There, he later worked as a senior physician, focusing on cataract surgeries, refractive surgery, and research in the field of new surgical methods.
Membership in various international ophthalmological organizations and societies is not only important for Dr. Kretz to ensure constant exchange with colleagues but also to stay up-to-date with the latest research. Being able to work with the most innovative methods is essential for optimal patient care. He also regularly operates at Premium Eyes in Düsseldorf for his colleagues. Internationally, Dr. Kretz collaborates with the Cathedral Eye Clinic in Belfast. Thanks to his medical license in the United Kingdom, this cross-border cooperation is no problem. Dr. Kretz is an ophthalmologist driven by passion. His commitment to research, as well as his philanthropic and social engagement, have been repeatedly honored with awards.
Dr. Kretz has published over 100 scientific publications in recent years. In addition to the most renowned peer-reviewed journals (Journal of Refractive Surgery, Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Klinische Monatsblätter, etc.), he has also contributed to professional magazines (CRST, The Ophthalmologist, Ophthalmology Time, etc.) and German publications (Focus, Spiegel).
