A California native, young Edward Lu attended school not more than five miles from where he would eventually be named Director of Business Development in a field that unexpectedly became his career. Edward, or to those that know him best as Ed, began his career with IQ Laser Vision in 2006 working as a surgical technician. The role was to help supplement his income and pay for tuition as he went to college. Not soon after, Ed found his passion to continue his work in healthcare, more specifically, in the refractive field. He has long been an advocate of the company’s mission, Transforming Lives by Delivering Clear Vision while providing the best patient care and experience possible. It was no surprise when the position for a Director of Clinic Operations emerged he was at the forefront. Today, Edward Lu acts as the Director of Business Development, continuing with the same sentiment and driven by the same fuel of happy patients since 2006.
His current focus is to assist with the expansion of the practice. Currently boasting 12 locations throughout California, IQ Laser Vision is on track to grow exponentially over the next several years. His biggest talent is in helping people overcome their barriers and fears of having refractive eye surgery. Ed believes people love the idea of getting rid of their glasses and contacts forever but are often times prevented from that freedom due to fear. The fear commonly stems from lack of proper education, misinformation, myths and misperceptions. After guiding a patient through the vision correction process, from their initial inquiry to their consultation and finally their procedure day, there is great satisfaction when a patient tells him the next day “Your team is the best and I wish I would have had this done sooner!”. The continuous positive feedback from happy patients is the very core of the reason why Ed has continued his career at IQ Laser Vision over 14 years ago and he is a patient himself as well! Edward is happy to connect and answer any questions about laser vision correction or discuss the business side of refractive eye care.
Today, Ed resides in Southern California with his wife and their two young boys. His spare time is spent with family and friends, usually discussing the latest in sports news. Ed has truly been blessed in recent years after marrying his wife and starting their family. He is forever grateful to his family for all their support that allows him to continue pursuing his passion to work with people and enabling them to see clearly without glasses and contacts.
