Charles Salisbury, MD currently serves as chief resident at Tulane Ophthalmology and plans to complete a cataract and refractive fellowship next year. Dr Salisbury graduated from the Honors College at the University of Georgia and received his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr Salisbury grew up in Mobile, Alabama where he had the privilege of serving patients along the gulf coast throughout his residency. His goal is to continue to serve the same geographic communities and surrounding areas he grew up in and give back to family, friends, and the underserved populations of Alabama, Mississippi, and the Florida panhandle communities. While Dr Salisbury enjoys comprehensive treatments for ophthalmic diseases his passion lies in restoring vision and helping patients become less reliant on glasses.
Traveling internationally to treat patients who otherwise do not have access to ophthalmic care is also an interest of Dr Salisbury, who has been traveling to Cordoba, Mexico during residency and plans to continue this annual mission trip after completing residency.
In his free time, Dr Salisbury enjoys golf, tennis, skiing, fishing, hunting, and spending time in the great outdoors.
