Wesam Silk, MD

Wesam Silk, MD is a board certified eye physician and surgeon. He is fellowship trained in refractive surgery and has been practicing for the 12 years. Our office serves the greater Washington DC area and our goal is to meaningful impact the quality of vision of each patient.

Patients visiting Dr. Silk can expect caring and compassionate surgeon with an attention detail as he recognizes every patient as unique, and customizes the experience to each patient.

Dr. Silk has always been blessed with perfect vision and never worn glasses or contacts a day in his life. When seeing others wearing them and they think it is normal it strikes him as being very odd as he believes teaching that 20/20 vision is normal, and achievable people will understand, and change their mindset.

Dr. Silk completed his ophthalmology training at the Virginia Commonwealth University and his refractive surgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. He was a former clinical research fellow at the National Eye Institute and and was awarded a research grant from the Research to Prevent Blindness Foundation. Dr. Silk is a former assistant professor of Ophthalmology at The George Washington University. Dr. Silk is a fellow of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Cornea Society.

He is happily married with his wife and two small daughters who are the joy of his life! In his free time he likes to jog, swim, hike and be outdoors as much as possible.
